FAQ
Why do I choose to register using the American Kennel Club?
The AKC is the oldest and most reliable dog registry of pedigree dogs. They have built in safety measures to protect pet purchasers from fraud. Any sire used for breeding more than twice in one year or more than three times in his life is required to be DNA tested, insuring the consumer should a question arise regarding the pedigree of a dog it can be verified. As an additional feature I also have my female DNA tested as well.
How old will my puppy be when he or she may come home?
Under the advisement of my veterinarian the puppies are ready at 6 weeks of age. They will begin eating solid food at 3-4 weeks of age when their teeth begin to show. My vet prefers that the puppies go to their new homes and begin adjusting before they have their ears cropped.
How old are the puppies when they have their ears cropped?
Dobermans typically can have their ears cropped between the age of 10 and 12 weeks.
What is the cost of having a Doberman Pinschers ears cropped?
The cost will run somewhere between $150 and $250 depending on where you have them done. This may not include the cost of re-wrapping the ears if necessary.
What does OFA certification mean?
OFA is the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals; they examine x-rays and make evaluations on joints. All of our dogs have certification on their hips and elbow against dysplasia (a malformation of a joint socket not to be confused when old age arthritis).
What would happen if in the future if something prevented me from being able to keep my Doberman?
As a reputable breeder, I will take any dog back (without reimbursement) and place your dog with another home. I will not pay nor charge anyone for a dog that I have not raised and trained myself, but I will seek to the best of my ability to find a suitable home for the pet. I do occasionally have contacts from people looking for an older dog. If you have an interest in an older dog, feel free to contact us to be placed on a waiting list, should a dog become available.
